Governance.  That's a pretty big word and it takes in a lot of territory when it comes to city council and how our elected officials run things.  Some issues are black and white.......you don't stick your hand in the til every time you walk by for instance but other issues aren't so clear.  Take  Ward 9's Dale Henderson and Dale TV.  Henderson used some 7 thousand dollars in expense money ( taxpayer money) to get Dale TV going and despite a lot of criticism he maintains he's right...says the money was for communication and he's communicating through Dale TV.  Having watched Dale TV I don't buy into that nor do I think very many Londoners do.  That can be debated further but what is really upsetting is that Henderson  fails to understand why  some Londoners question  the validity of what he's doing.  You might say the same thing about a number of other ...

I expect    everybody is now familiar  with the  controversy over Councillor Sandy White's use of the N word  during debate  at council this past Tuesday.   All sorts of back and forth has followed with apologies....demands for apologies.....and threats of legal action.  We'll just leave  all that and White's racial epithet and move on to the real issue-what a dysfunctional council we really have.  Sandy White and Harold usher have been at each other's throats for years....one would say yes and the other would say no just for spight.  And then there is Bill Armstrong and Bud Polhill ....another constant war and then there's Joni Baechler and Mayor Joe-its no secret there's no love lost there. Throw in the mayor's legal issues  and you've got a kettle on constant boil!   Oh ...and lets not leave out Dale Henderson, Dale TV and his constant babbling-nobody has the slightest idea what the hell he's talking ...

Don't know if you've  ever taken a few minutes  to watch  Dale TV......Councillor Dale  Henderson making like a news anchor and expounding on various topics.  The latest episode is parrticuarly  interesting because he does  a bit of revisionist history making when it comes to the media in London.  I guess what the councillor  objects to  is the way today's media covers the circus that city hall has become.  He apparently doesn't like it that someone is watching over his shoulder.  One thing  has become very  clear.....someone should watch  and do so  VERY  closely  and not just watch over Henderson but council in general.  As for Henderson and his ruminations on Dale TV,  one thing is clear ,  something is very wrong.  As a former co worker used to say when someone came up with a particuarly crazy idea:  are you getting enough air?  The really sad part is that Henderson ...

My father used to call March "the month that's good for nothing".  I don't know if its Pop whispering over my shoulder or if this is really an independent thought but I've just about decided March is the month to be dreaded!  Nothing good can come of March except  perhaps April and the Masters Golf Tourny.  It  snows off and on and rains as well and the dam wind never quits blowing.  Its too warm to ski, the snow is just slop and  its too cold to golf.  There's no birds to watch and the fish aren't running.  Yup ...March sucks big time.  I'll end with this bit from "the old man"- March  is a direct gift from God to show you that nothing in life is perfect- you've got the other 11 months so quit tripping over your bottom lip and get on with it.  April is just 30 ...

What is it about the rules that Mayor Joe Fontana and a number of others on city council just don't get?  So Joe decides he's going to grab a burger  at Billy T's this past weekend and invited Councillor Orser...then low and behold other councillors just started showing up.  Eventually there were 7members of council  including the mayor all off in a private room apparently discussing how  good the  burgers were....or how cold the beer was   etc.  The mayor   maintains   this was just a random meeting  and that he had just asked for the room at the time.  But the  manager at Billy T's told  one news outlet in town Fontana  had booked the  room in advance....then  a day or so later....the manager said he was mistaken,  that Fontana had only asked for the room when everybody started to randomly show up.  Doesn't matter whether it was a random gathering or not.  According ...
