The Biggs Show 11am - 12pm Monday to Friday
After 29 years in the broadcast industry, I've found that radio can still be as fun and as vibrant as you make it. I love interviewing guests on my current talk show, and because my background before radio is entertainment, it's great to be able to interview artists, actors, musicians, authors - no matter what stage of their career they may be. Everyone has a story...and my guests aren't limited to the entertainment world. Love helping a good not-for-profit cause, or helping a charity getting their message heard...or anything on the subjects of health, fitness or money. Who doesn't love that money stuff?
In a previous career, I spent time as a professional bassist and backing vocalist with a successful Halifax-based touring and recording rock band - Titan (late 70’s/early 1980's). Although we never landed the big recording contract, the group was chosen to perform as opening act for some of Canada's best rock acts of the period, including Max Webster, Moxy, and Ian Thomas. (You DO remember THEM, right?) That experience gives me a unique perspective on life as a performer, and a working musician's view of the radio and music industries. I can observe, from my current vantage point, the challenges of entertainers through any medium – as well as the relevance of promotion through internet and social media.
On a personal note, I also have two GREAT kids – twins, boy and girl. They're awesome...and if you listen to The Biggs Show for any length of time, you’ll probably hear me talking about them. They’re brilliant, they always keep ME entertained, and they challenge me to be a better person. (Not purposefully, of course. They don’t actually SAY, "Hey, Dad! Be a better person!" Never mind.)
Join me from 11am to Noon, Monday to Friday, for The Biggs Show (and stick around for some great guests as I host the first half hour of Ask The Experts at Noon.)
