Otters Edge Knights In A Shootout
Kevin Bailie of the London Knights went through a combined 12 Erie shooters over the course of two shootouts before finally surrenduring a goal. It ended up being the game winner on Friday off the stick of Connor Brown as the Erie Otters defeated the London Knights 3-2 at Budweiser Gardens. The last meeting between London and Erie had gone through nine rounds before the game winner was scored.
London had started fast in the game as Max Domi scored 46 seconds into the first period on a backhand high over Oscar Dansk of the Otters. The Knights increased their lead to 2-0 on Josh Anderson's second goal of the season and London held that lead until the final minute of the first period when J.P. Labardo banged in a rebound to cut the Knights' lead in half.
The Knights hit a post early in the second, but a power play goal from Adam Pelech minutes later ended up tying the game 2-2 and it would stay there through 65 minutes.
London outshot the Otters 39-36.
The Knights head to Barrie on Saturday to face the Colts who are on an 8-game winning streak. Broadcast time on NewsTalk 1290 is 6:30.
