Knights Defeat Erie In Nine-Round Shootout
Kyle Platzer of the London Knights will be abe to remember two "first goals" in the OHL. He beat Oscar Dansk of the Erie Otters through the legs in the ninth round of a shootout to give London a 4-3 victory. Platzer got the puck but won't get credit for an official goal. That first goal is still to come.
The Knights built a 3-1 lead in the game on goals from Max Domi, Seth Griffith and Bo Horvat, erasing an early Erie lead as Connor McDavid scored 1:55 into the game.
The Otters were able to tie the game with a power play goal in the second and another power play goal in the third.
Erie outshot the Knights 29-22 through 65 minutes. Both goalies made key saves at key times. None more impressive than the stops Kevin Bailie and Dansk made in the shootout. Platzer was the 18th shooter and the first and only player to score.
London will host Plymouth on Friday. There are tickets available. Call 519-681-0800 or go online to www.londonknights.com
