The Knights Open The Season With A Pair Of 8-2 Wins
After an 8-2 win over Erie on Friday night, the London Knights were expected to find a tighter game in Guelph on Sunday afternoon. The scoreboard didn't quite reflect that at the end of the game as the London Knights posted a second straight 8-2 victory.
London trailed 2-1 after the first period after goals from Jason Dickenson and Matt Finn of the Storm and Seth Griffith's fourth goal of the season, but London broke things open in the second. Two goals from Matt Rupert and singles from Tommy Hughes and Remi Elie had London ahead 5-2 after frty minutes. For Elie, it was his first career OHL goal.
The Knights added three more in the third courtesy of Alex Broadhurst's first in the league, Brett Welychka's first of the season and Seth Griffith's fifth of the year.in Bailie stopped 28 shots for his second win as a Knight.
London will host Kitchener on Friday at 7:30 at Budweiser Gardens and then Guelph on Sunday at 2 PM. Tickets are available for both games.
