A week after a trying offensive afternoon at Queen's, the Western Mustangs came rushing back. Running back Garrett Sanvido ran the ball 24 times for 205 yards and a touchdown and Yannick Harou added two more TDs on the ground in a 43-26 Western win over the Windsor Lancers Saturday at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
Mustang quarterback Donnie Marshall went 11 for 19 for 208 yards and a touchdown on a 69-yard completion to his brother Brian Marshall.
Western did surving two turnovers on a fumble and an interception. The Mustangs actually fumbled the ball five different times, but Windsor was only able to recover once.
In a strange twist, the teams each ended up with a safety in the second quarter.
The Lancers did show good pressure in spurts through the game and sacked Marshall five times.
Next up for Western is undefeated and #1 ranked McMaster at home on Saturday. The defending Vanier Cup champion Marauders handed Queen's their first loss with a 33-20 win in Hamilton.
