Mustangs Dominate U of T
A fast start, a strong finish and an excellent in-between gave the Western Mustang football team their second victory in less than a week. It was about as complete a game as a team could play.
The Mustangs put up 34 first half points on their way to a 62-7 win over the U of T Varsity Blues. Western spread the scoring around as six different players reached the end zone. Garret Sanvido ran for 109 yards and 2 scores. He now has five touchdowns on the season. Donnie Marshall was 12 for 20 for 202 yards and 2 TDs. He also ran for 77 yards and a touchdown.
Five receivers caught at least two passes for the Mustangs. Brian Marshall led the way with 77 yards and a score.
Western came within 1:22 of pitching a shutout before U of T quarterback Chris Jugovic found Cody Rossi for nine yards and a touchdown.
The Mustangs now head to Queen's for what will be their most difficult test to date on Saturday, September 15th.
