Sting Top Knights

Go back through the past few pre-seasons and the story is always the same.  The London Knights open home to Sarnia with a win and shortly afterward, they head to Sarnia where the Sting return the favour.

The teams met in Sarnia on Monday afternoon and on the back of two goals from Reid Boucher, Sarnia knocked off the Knights 6-2.

Sarnia scored first in the game on Boucher's third of the pre-season, but London tied it as former Sting forward Jack Nevins beat J.P. Anderson, who started the game for Sarnia.

The Sting stretched the lead to 3-1 through two before Chris Tierney of the Knights closed the gap to one goal early in the third.

After that, the game belonged to Sarnia as they scored three straight on Trevor Wheaton.  Wheaton played the second half of the game for London and gave up 5 goals.  Jake Patterson continued his strong play through the first 30 minutes of the game, making 11 saves.

London will host Plymouth on Friday at 7:30 and then face the Whalers in St. Thomas on Saturday night to end their exhibition schedule.
