Stolen Vehicle Hits Police Cruiser

Police observed a stolen vehicle yesterday being operated in the area of Wharncliffe Road North in London. This vehicle had also been involved in thefts of gasoline within the city. The vehicle struck a marked police vehicle as it exited a parking lot, causing significant damage to both vehicles. The driver of the stolen vehicle caused damage to private property prior to the collision.
Police arrested 31-year-old Jeffrey Manders of no fixed address a short distance away.
The officer in the police cruiser did not suffer any injuries.
Police have charged Manders with:
-Possession of Stolen Property
-Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
-Failing to stop for police
-Leaving the scene of an accident
-Impaired (by drug) operation of a motor vehicle
-Obstruct / Resist arrest
