Tories Still Calling for Contempt Against London MPP

9/24/2012

The Progressive Conservatives aren't impressed with word it will cost $40 million dollars to move a cancelled power plant in Oakville to the Lennox generating facility near Napanee.

In the legislature, Tory Ted Arnott accused the Liberals of holding back the costs, and fighting the release of all documents on that project and a cancelled power plant in Mississauga, for purely political reasons.

Arnott said in the legislature today he thinks it is clear that either the Energy Minister or Premier Dalton McGuinty signed off on the decision to withhold the document on the gas plants until after the byelection was over, and that the answer to this must be revealed.

The Conservatives will proceed with a motion to declare Energy Minister and London MPP Chris Bentley in contempt of the legislature saying he tried to ``cover up'' the cost of cancelling the two gas plants.
