This morning at a London courthouse, Former CTV London news anchor, Dan MacLellan pleaded guilty to assault and received an absolute discharge.
The plea was entered this morning in relation to the 38-year-old's arrest on Christmas Eve following an altercation with an unidentified woman.
MacLellan's Lawyer Gord Cudmore says the reasons he thinks this decision was made.
"The judge was told that Dan voluntarily went into rehab to deal with the alcohol problems and signed up for a course to deal with his anger issues. And before the sentencing, Dan made a statement and took responsibility for his actions."
Cudmore says an absolute discharge means he will not have a criminal record.
